Lincoln Center Theater streaming service!

Miss your favorite LCT production? This new streaming service is for you!

Recently, Lincoln Center announced that they will be streaming past productions in a partnership with Broadway On Demand. Due to the lack of live theatre, Lincoln Center hopes that this will bring some theatrical joy back into the world.

The first production that will be available to stream will be VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE (Off-Broadway, 2012)

Lincoln Center has planned to release more shows on the steaming service, including THE WOLVES, MARYS SEACOLE and THE ROYALE. However, not all fans are thrilled about the idea of "streamed live theatre". Throughout the pandemic, "Zoom Theatre" and other forms of the like arose, but people are still missing the real thing.

Adam Siegel, the managing director of Lincoln Center Theater, said, "I do think that this pandemic has shaken [the theater industry] out of somewhat of a stupor about this kind of work...there has been a resistance or reluctance to engage in productions in this way. And I do think that collectively people are waking up a little bit.”

What do you think? Do you like the idea of a streaming service of your Broadway favorites? Let me know in the comments!
